The Philippine Government introduced the SIM Registration Act on October 10, 2022. Every SIM user must follow the rule and register their SIM cards. The process of TM  SIM Registration is very easy.

You just need to fill in the required details and provide the important documents. You can register a SIM card TM via the portal, GlobeOne app, or in TM stores. Below is the complete process that I used to register my SIM successfully.

The deadline to register the old TM SIM was  27, 2022. Now you can purchase the new SIM and register it.

TM SIM Registration Methods

The TM Tambyan officially provided the three methods for SIM Registration TM. The details are as follows:

All three methods are safe and easy. You can choose any of the methods according to your preference. Below is the step-by-step guide for each method, along with the screenshots.

Please note that the process for SIM registration will be the same for Filipinos, minors, corporations, and foreigners. However, details and documents vary in each case. 

1 TM SIM Reg via Portal

Registration of SIM card TM via the TM SIM portal is the most popular and widely used method. It is quick and easy. Here is how to register TM SIM via the portal.

  • First of all, visit the TM SIM portal. Just click on the registration below, and you will be automatically redirected to the portal.
  • Now choose the language between English/Tanglish in which you are comfortable to continue.
  • Enter your 1o digit TM SIM number that you want to register. Enter the number carefully and ensure that you have entered an accurate number.

You can also visit the TM portal using a QR code. Just open the mobile camera and scan the QR code or download the Globeone App.

2 Register SIM Card TM via the GlobeOne app

Below is the step-by-step tutorial along with screenshots to register TM SIM using the GlobOne app:

  • First of all, download the GlobeOne app. Click on the buttons according to your Device and download the app.
  • Wait for a few minutes while the app is downloading. Once the app is downloaded, open the app and create your account.

Important: Always download and use the official GlobeOne for registration. Avoid using any unofficial and third-party apps.

3 Registration in Globe Stores registration

If you want an in-person registration, visit the East Globe store. Ask the attendant for SIM registration. You will get an in-person step-by-step registration guide and help to register the SIM card TM. Always remember to bring the following documents along with you:

  • Copy of official ID
  • A photo

Check SIM Registration Status

Once you have submitted the registration form, you can check the status of your SIM registration. You can check the registration status of your TM SIM via three different methods. The details are as follows:

To check the registration status via the TM SIM portal,

  1. First of all, visit the official portal by clicking on the link provided below.

  1. Now, enter your TM SIM number and click on the “check” button.
  2. You will get an OTP indicating whether your SIM is registered or not. 

You can also check your status via the GlobeOne app. Here is how to check it:

  1. First of all, open the app and log in to your account.
  2. Your SIM card registration will be displayed on the app home screen.
  1. Type  “SMERG” and send it to 8080. 
  2. In response, you will get an SMS “your SIM is registered”. If the messages do not arrive, your SIM is still not registered. The registration is still in progress.

If there is an issue with checking the status online, consider visiting the Globe store. Visit the store and ask the attendant for your status. Provide your mobile number and other required details. In the results, you will get your SIM registration status details. 

The registration process can take a few days. If your SIM is not registered, wait for a few days and check the status again.

Tips For Successful SIM Registration

The process of TM SIM Registration is straightforward and does not have any complexities. However, here are some practical tips that I followed to register my TM SIMs without any issue. Here are the details:

  • Always provide a valid and correct TM SIM number to get OTP. If there is any issue with the number, you will not receive the OTP, and the SIM registration will not be completed. 
  • Provide the required details according to the official ID. Your registration will be rejected in case of false details. 
  • Always upload a clear photo of your ID. Make sure that the user’s signature and picture are visible on the ID. The ID does not exceed the acceptable size (2MB). 
  • Upload a clear and fresh selfie of your face. Do not use any effects and filters on the selfie. 
  • Ensure that your SIM is properly placed in your mobile. Also, make sure that you have a stable internet connection. It is important to receive the OTP on time.
  • Use the official method of registration. Avoid using any unofficial apps or links for registration. It can lead to a lot of errors.
  • Always use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication for your accounts. It will improve the security of your accounts and prevent security risks.
  • Contact the TM SIM helpline if you are facing any errors. Visit the Globe store for in-person assistance.

TM Registration SIM Bonus

How To Change The TM SIM Details?

You can easily change your TM SIM details within a few simple steps. Here is the step-by-step guide to do it online

  • First of all, go to the official portal or the GlobeOne app. 
  • Now log in to your account. 
  • Once logged in, go to the registration option, and click on the “edit”.
  • Now you will get options to edit the details. Enter all the details you want to update. 
  • Now upload the photo of your official ID for verification. 
  • Review all the information carefully and click on the submit button.
  • It will take some time to update the information. Once the information is updated, you will receive a confirmation message. 
  • You can also visit the Globe store and update your information physically.

SIM Registration Commons Errors 

The SIM registration is very simple and easy. It does not involve any technical steps. But some users face errors while registering their TM SIM card. Below is a detailed guide about the reasons and solutions for such errors:

Invalid ID Issue

The invalid ID issue occurs due to ID errors. This issue occurs when the ID is not clear, valid, or above the maximum required size of 2 MB. Here is how to overcome this error.

  • Check that your uploaded ID is clear. The holder’s signature and photo are visible. 
  • Make sure that it is not larger than the required size. If it exceeds 2MB in file size, compress and then upload it.

SIM Card Already Registered

“SIM card already registered” error occurs due to technical reasons. This issue also occurs when the SIM is still registered to the old user details. Follow these precautions in such cases:

Contact the helpline and report your issue. The helpline will take notice of your report and resolve it as soon as possible.

Registration Time Out

The selfie error usually occurs when a user uploads a blurry selfie. Here is how to overcome the selfie issue:

  • Always upload a clear and fresh selfie. Make sure that your face is visible in the selfie.
  • Avoid using any effects and filters on the selfie. 
  • The file size of your selfie must not exceed the recommended size of 2 MB

OTP Issue

The OTP is not received when the SIM card is not properly placed. It also occurs when the internet connection is slow. Here is how to receive OTP:

  • Make sure that your SIM is properly placed in the mobile phone and the network is available. 
  • Use a stable internet connection. If the internet connection is slow, try to switch to a good connection. 
  • Wait a while and try again. Sometimes, the OTP also delays due to high traffic.
  • Check the spam box of your messages. Sometimes, OTP is considered spam SMS and is automatically moved to the spam box.

App Crashed

  • During the peak hours, a lot of people are trying to register the SIM via the app. Therefore, the app crashes due to high traffic. Here is how to overcome this issue:
  • Wait in the peak hours and try again when the traffic is less. 
  • Update the app and try again for registration. 
  • Clear the cache of the app before trying again.

Selfie Error

This error occurs due to high traffic and a slow internet connection. Follow these precautions to overcome this error:

  • Make sure that you have a stable internet connection. If the internet is slow, try moving to a stable connection. 
  • Wait during the peak hours and try again after some time.
  • Clear the cache of your browser and try again

Above is the solution to all the possible errors that occur during SIM registration. If you are facing any other issue, contact the TM SIM customer care. If you are continuously facing errors in online registration, visit the physical stores and get in-person help. 

Why SIM Registration TM Is Compulsory?

Here are the reasons why SIM registration is a must:

  • The Philippine Government passed the SIM Registration Act and made TM registration SIM registration necessary for every citizen. Now, every citizen must follow the rule and register their SIM card.
  • The non-registered SIM will be automatically deactivated and will be unable to be used. 
  • The individual will face 6 months to 2 years in prison and up to ₱300,000 in fines in case of providing false details and documents.
  • The Telecons will be fined ₱100,000 to ₱1 million if they refuse to register without any reason. 
  • You can get access to all the promos and rewards of TM SIM after the registration. 
  • Your SIM card becomes secure from misuse and digital crimes.

You can contact the helpline at any time and report your issue. The helpline will take notice of your issue and respond as soon as possible. 

To register TM SIM online, visit the TM SIM portal or the GlobeOne app. Fill the registration form and upload all the required documents. Once done, submit the form and your SIM will be registered after a short process.

Once the SIM is registered successfully, it will be automatically registered within a few minutes. However, the activation may take a long time in some cases.

To deactivate your TM SIM card, call the helpline at 808 from your TM number. Ask them to deactivate your TM SIM card.  Alternatively, you can visit the Globe store and request the TM SIM deactivation. You will be asked to provide some documents, and your SIM will be deactivated within 24 hours.

To check whether your TM SIM is registered or not, type SUBMERG and send it to 8080. In response, you will know if your SIM is registered or not. In addition to that, the registration status is also displayed on the app and portal home screens.

The deadline to register the old SIM was  December 27, 2022. Now it is not possible to register the old SIM cards.  However, you can still register a new TM SIM.

It is impossible to register the old SIM card. However, you can purchase a new SIM and register it today. 

If you lose your registered SIM, contact the TM helpline and report your issue. You will be asked to provide some details and documents for verification. Once the verification is done, your SIM will be deactivated.

If you do not register your SIM, the SIM will be deactivated. You will lose access to all the services, promos, and rewards of TM SIM.

You can register multiple SIM cards in your name. However, keep in mind that a maximum of nine SIMs can be registered in the name of a person.
